On the shop floor, maintaining a clear overview and ensuring daily operations run smoothly is key. This is where you come in as our new Production Team Leader.
Simons Halal Food provides high-quality halal meat products from our production facility in Roermond. We supply our products to importers, distributors, and wholesalers across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia. Important to note: we are a processing facility, not a slaughterhouse. This means we work in a clean, controlled environment where we process incoming raw materials into finished products with passion and craftsmanship.
As a Production Team Leader you ensure the smooth running of daily operations within our production department. You lead the operators and production staff and serve as their primary point of contact. You are able to maintain oversight—even under high pressure—and inspire your team to work together toward quality and efficiency.
For this role, we are looking for someone with an MBO-level (vocational) working and thinking ability, combined with proven experience in the food sector and strong leadership qualities. You are a proactive and resilient professional who remains calm under pressure and maintains a clear overview of the production process. Most importantly, you are a people person who gains energy from managing and developing a team, inspiring them to reach their full potential while working toward our shared goals.
Why join us? Let’s get to know each other! You might be exactly the person to help Simons Halal Food grow our production even further while building both your future and ours.
Your day begins with a cup of coffee while you prepare and review the planning for the production lines, staffing, and schedules. You are in direct contact with your team from the start, providing clear instructions and handling ad-hoc situations such as sick calls. Throughout the day, you maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, guiding employees and providing constructive feedback. When necessary, you jump in to assist with production yourself to ensure everything continues to run smoothly. You also keep a sharp eye on the production lines and machinery, taking immediate action whenever needed. At the end of the day, you discuss any highlights or challenges with your fellow Team Leaders and the planning department, actively contributing your ideas to improve our overall processes.
